Biography
Major advisor: Natalie Love, PhD
Research topic: Carbon, cooling, and phenology along an urban gradient in managed forests of the eastern US
Research interests: Carbon cycling, phenology, prescribed fire, drought, forest ecology
Current research: My dissertation research will focus on how ecosystem services, including carbon storage and cooling, are impacted by forest management (like prescribed fire) and environmental impacts of climate change (like drought). Utilizing remote sensing and field data, I will explore differences in response between forest types and along an urban to semi-urban gradient across the Chicagoland area, potentially incorporating field sites in more rural areas as well.
