Biography

Major Advisor: Amy Iler

Research topic: The timing of plant reproduction under climate change-induced early snowmelt

Research interests: Plant reproduction, climate change, seed biology, field studies, greenhouse studies, restoration

Current research:

My first chapter utilizes experimental early snowmelt and control plots at the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory in Colorado to see how the timing of flowering and fruiting may shift under continued climate change.

My second chapter looks at the potential consequences of this by assessing seed and seedling performance from these plots.

My third chapter looks at 30+ years of historical seed collection timing data and climate data from Glacier National Park to see how species' seed production timing has changed and how utilizing this data may benefit park restoration efforts.

Recent awards: National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship (NSF-GRF), PBC PhD Research Award, Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory Fellowship Snyder Endowment, Francis Y. Kwong Award, Colorado Native Plant Society John W. Marr Grant
